<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition, which has excellent tire braking/driving performance on icy/snowy road surfaces, that on wet road surfaces and low hysteresis performance while maintaining abrasion resistance, and a pneumatic tire using the rubber composition for a tread. <P>SOLUTION: The rubber composition comprises (A) a rubber component containing terminal-modified conjugated diene polymer, (B) inorganic compound powder represented by following general formula (I) and having a mean particle size of 5μm or more, and (C) a filler. In the pneumatic tire, the rubber composition is used for a tread. In the formula (I) M-xSiO<SB>2</SB>-yH<SB>2</SB>O, M is a metal oxide/hydroxide of at least one metal selected among Al, Mg, Ti and Ca, and x and y are each independently an integer of 0-10. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
