<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface-mounted component such as an electric connector advantageous for miniaturization, and capable of preventing solder rise without increasing cost. <P>SOLUTION: The connector 10 includes first contacts 20R each housed in a housing groove 11h of a housing 11 formed of an insulation material. The first contact 20R includes a base 202, and a tine part 205 soldered to a printed wiring board. The housing groove 11h includes a wide large-width part 11h1, and a small-width part 11h2 having a width smaller than that of the large-width part 11h1.
