PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of suppressing decrease of a liquid containing developer when the apparatus is not used. SOLUTION: A switching part 30 is controlled so that a relative position of a magnetic drum 12 to a liquid storage container 26 may be a first position where an aperture 32 is closed by bringing an edge of the aperture 32 into contact with a surface of the magnetic drum 12 when a first condition determined in advance is satisfied, and may be a second position that is a position where a latent image is developed and a position where the aperture 32 is not closed when a second condition determined in advance is satisfied.
