PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cutoff valve 10 smoothly performing elevating movement of a float mechanism 50. SOLUTION: This fuel cutoff valve 10 includes a casing 20 and a float 52. An introducing opening 37b is formed in the lower portion of a bottom member 35, and a lower communication hole 38 is formed in a bottom plate 36. Fuel is introduced into a valve chamber 30S to lift the float mechanism 50 according to a pressure difference between tank internal pressure and pressure in the valve chamber 30S when a level of fuel reaches a predetermined level of fuel to close the introducing opening 37b by fuel. When the float 52 is lifted, the lower communication hole 38 is opened. At this time, if the pressure difference is larger a predetermined pressure, the float mechanism 50 is lifted to a lifting position to close a connection passage 31b by an upper valve element 60; meanwhile, if the pressure difference is smaller than the predetermined pressure, a first float portion 53 opens the lower communication hole 38 to further reduce the pressure difference, thereby preventing the float mechanism 50 from being lifted to the lifting position.
