PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid wasting of fuel as far as possible, while quickly performing automatic start of an engine. SOLUTION: When a start request of the engine is detected during stop of a vehicle after automatic stop of the engine, combustion of the engine is started after a first predetermined time from the detection of the start request when a state where the vehicle can be driven to travel is detected (for example, in a P range or an N range). On the other hand, the state where it is possible to drive to travel the vehicle is not detected (for example, in a D range or an R range), the combustion of the engine is started after a predetermined time set to be longer than the first predetermined time, from the detection of the start request.
