PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a scroll compressor surely sealing between a high-pressure space and a low-pressure space to sufficiently reduce the possibility of performance decline of a scroll compressor. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a scroll compressor 1 includes a housing manufacturing step, a housing insertion step, and a laser welding step. In the housing manufacturing step, a housing 23 is manufactured. The housing includes a body part MB and a welded part WP. The welded part is an annular part made from low-carbon steel or cast iron which is welded by laser. The welded part is formed to an outer periphery of a body part to be integral with the body part. In the housing insertion step, the housing is inserted into a tubular casing 11. In the laser welding step, a laser beam is irradiated on a whole circumference from the outside of the casing at a part opposed to the welded part of the casing to laser-weld the housing to the casing.
