<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electro-optical device capable of easily performing a lighting test. <P>SOLUTION: At the time of the lighting test, a terminal for a power source is brought into contact with a high-side potential supply line 20 to supply a high-side potential VEL to the high-side potential supply line 20 and a terminal for test is brought into contact with a light emission control line 70 to set a light emission signal ALLEM to a high level state, in a state wherein a data line driving circuit 50 is not mounted on a substrate 16. Thus an electro-optical element 100 in each unit circuit U can be caused to emit light without mounting the data line driving circuit 50 on the substrate 16. Meanwhile, the light emission signal ALLEM is kept in a low level when driving the electro-optical device 10.
