<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of more accurately discriminating a browsing degree of content displayed in a display medium than in the conventional manner. <P>SOLUTION: A display medium state acquiring device 103 detects pressure applied to a portable display device 102 and transmits the pressure to a display medium state determining means 106 at constant intervals. The display medium state determining means 106 determines whether the portable display device 102 is carried by a person on the basis of information received from the display medium state acquiring means 103, starts measuring of a contact time by a browsing state determining means 107 on the condition that it is determined that the portable display device 102 is carried by the person, and finishes measuring the contact time by the browsing state determining means 107 on the condition that it is later determined that it is not carried by the person.
