PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for use of a blast furnace gas satisfying both preferable operation methods of the combined uses of the blast furnace gas as a fuel for power generation, and as a heating source in an iron-making process. SOLUTION: The method for use of the blast furnace gas includes: making a part of the blast furnace gas purified through a dust collector pass through an expansion turbine to lower its pressure; storing in a gas holder to use as the heating source in the iron-making process, while making the remaining gas pass through a blast furnace gas compressor driven by the rotation of the expansion turbine to increase pressure; and supplying the pressure-rising gas as the fuel for power generation by high-pressure combustion in a gas turbine power generation device.
