PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an overhead air section warning system which can surely prevent stopping of a train between air sections to surely prevent fusion of a trolley wire. SOLUTION: The overhead air section warning system comprises a warning ground element 11 for transmitting retraction distance information to the train 2 side, a tachometer generator 4 for counting the travelling distance of the train 2, a control unit 7 for setting the retraction distance condition necessary for retraction between the air sections 10 based on the retraction distance information transmitted from the warning ground element 11, and a warning logic part 13 for operating the warning device when the retraction distance condition set by the control unit 7 is compared with the travelling distance information counted by the tachometer generator 4, and the travelling distance counted by the tachometer generator 4 does not reach the retraction distance condition.
