PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal magnesium-containing ceramic sintered compact which can produce hydrogen-containing water by being charged into water, and further has high productivity and mechanical strength, and can be easily compacted though being formed utilizing a ceramic material, and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: Regarding the metal magnesium-containing ceramic sintered compact 1, to the insides of ceramic base materials 3, 5 each formed of a ceramic material, powdery metal magnesium 7 is sintered in a confined state. The ceramic base materials 3, 5 have a porous structure, and, when the metal magnesium-containing ceramic sintered compact 1 is thrown into water, the water infiltrated into the metal magnesium-containing ceramic sintered compact 1 is reacted with metal magnesium 7, so as to generate hydrogen, and, by the hydrogen, hydrogen-containing water can be produced.
