PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method, toner and an image forming apparatus which can stably provide high picture quality by suppressing changes in a toner charge amount associating with temperature and humidity changes, and suppress degradation and wear of a photoreceptor although a silica gel is present in a toner surface layer, and thereby preventing image degradation. SOLUTION: The image forming method includes steps of charging, exposing, developing, transferring, fixing and cleaning, wherein the toner used for image formation is prepared by water-based granulation and contains silica gel added to a toner surface layer in an amount of 1 to 20 parts by mass with respect to the toner base material.
