PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a magnesium diboride nanotube by utilizing DC arc discharge, and a magnesium diboride nanotube of a specific structure produced by such the method. SOLUTION: A depressed portion formed in an anode tip is packed with a powder mixture of magnesium and boron or magnesium diboride powder, and the DC arc discharge is caused between a cathode and the anode in a cryogenic fluid to deposit a crystal containing a magnesium diboride nanotube on the cathode surface.
