The transfer carriage (3) for joining body shell parts of a motor vehicle, comprises standby position, a working position and guide rails (6) arranged in the standby position. The body shell parts are guidable on a geometrically determined roll body and auxiliary roll body track-guided between the standby position and the working position exactly aligned by the geometrically determined roll body. The guide rails in the standby position are held alone on the part of the auxiliary roll body while the geometrical determination of roll body externally contact to the assigned guide rails. The transfer carriage (3) for joining body shell parts of a motor vehicle, comprises standby position, a working position and guide rails (6) arranged in the standby position. The body shell parts are guidable on a geometrically determined roll body and auxiliary roll body track-guided between the standby position and the working position exactly aligned by the geometrically determined roll body. The guide rails in the standby position are held alone on the part of the auxiliary roll body while the geometrical determination of roll body externally contact to the assigned guide rails. The roll body and the auxiliary roll body are coupled together in rotatably fixed and unidirectional manner. The rotational axis of the roll body and the auxiliary roll body are stationary arranged at the transfer carriage and the rail running faces are equipped with a recess stretching itself over the area of the standby position of the geometrically determined roll body or with a hollow-like recess to space in the standby position of the roll body under release of an air gap. The roll body and the auxiliary roll body are actively driven and sequentially positioned on the same guide rails. The auxiliary roll bodies are arranged in the direction of the standby position displaced to the geometrically determined roll body at the transfer carriage. The transfer carriage is equipped with four identical roll combinations existing out of a roll body exposed and completely loaded in the standby position.
