The method involves extracting a gaseous phase from a system containing a liquid, where the gaseous phase that is formed itself by the liquid is discharged and a gas analysis device i.e. ion mobility spectrometer, is introduced. The liquid is pumped continuously from a liquid system into an evaporation chamber (1) and is passed into the evaporation chamber. The gaseous phase is discharged from a carrier gas that flows through the evaporation chamber. The liquid is again pumped down temporally from the evaporation chamber. An independent claim is also included for a device for sampling a gaseous phase that is formed by a liquid.
