A channel estimation/prediction unit (18) estimates a channel and predicts a channel for the next transmission slot. An SVD unit (19) subjects each of the channel estimation values to the singular value decomposition. An eigenvalue calculation unit (20) calculates an eigenvalue in the slot. An inherent mode quality calculation unit (21) calculates quality of each inherent mode according to the eigenvalue obtained from the eigenvalue calculation unit (20) and outputs the calculated quality to a transmission-adaptive control unit (22). The transmission-adaptive control unit (22) detects a channel variation frequency from the fluctuation of the quality of the lower-node inherent mode. As the channel variation frequency becomes greater with respect to the slot length, the quality of the upper-node inherent mode is corrected to a smaller value.
