<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an evaporator with a new constitution which can effectively carry out a desalination (a demineralization treatment) of salt water and also a vaporization separation treatment of various liquid materials (especially, a distillation or a solid/liquid separation) with low facility cost and operation cost. <P>SOLUTION: The evaporator 12 has an evaporation tower 18 of a barrack structure having a green house effect and a spray means of a liquid to be treated, arranged in the evaporation tower 18. The spray means consists of an upper and lower spray pipe 40, 40A with many spray nozzles 38, arranged as to be faced so that the liquid to be treated being sprayed from each spray nozzle 38 can collide.
