PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording device in which the number of parts is reduced by reducing an independent path for measuring ink viscosity and the number of components of the independent path, and a simplified ink circulation path configuration is achieved to reduce its size. SOLUTION: The ink jet recording device includes: a first ink container which holds ink for printing; a second ink container for holding the ink which performs printing and refills the first ink container; a first electromagnetic valve which is arranged on a first pipe path between a first pipe connection part being the connection part of the first pipe path and a second pipe path and the first ink container and for opening and closing the first pipe path; viscosity measuring equipment which is arranged on the first pipe path between the first pipe connection part and the first ink container and for measuring the viscosity of the ink sucked from the first ink container; and a second electromagnetic valve which is arranged between the first pipe connection part and the second ink container.
