PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately remove a fluid received by a receiving member without reduction in throughput of a fluid discharge device. SOLUTION: The fluid discharge device comprises: a nozzle for discharging a fluid to a medium; and a rotator which has a circumferential surface including a holding area for holding the medium and a non-holding area, and rotates with the circumferential surface being opposite to the nozzle, the rotator including a receiving member for receiving the fluid discharged from the nozzle for flushing when the non-holding area is opposed to the nozzle, and a removing member for removing the fluid received by the receiving member from the receiving member.
