PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a more effective method for raising the speed and the quality of iterative targeted reconstruction. SOLUTION: Disclosed is an imaging system (10) including a source (18) generating an x-ray beam (32), a detector array (20) receiving the x-ray beam (32) and generating projection data, an advancing table (22) configured for disposal of an object thereon and operable so as to advance side by side in relation to the source (18) and the detector array (20), the source (18) and the detector array (20) rotating about the advancing table (22) to scan the object, and an image reconstructor (44) electrically coupled to the advancing table (22) and the detector array (20) and configured to reconstruct an image in response to the projection data via an iterative reconstruction technique (200) configured to perform a targeted statistical reconstruction.
