PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a multi-layer membrane which shows high liquid permeating rate and is useful as a separating membrane, in the separating membrane intended for liquid treatment which is used for removing impurities from a liquid containing an object or the impurities which are a substance other than the object, and refining the object. SOLUTION: This manufacturing method is intended for manufacturing the multi-layer membrane constructed of a prefilter layer and a removing layer, and includes: the process of obtaining moldings having a pore part, of a porous membrane, filled with a protecting agent; the process of roughening the surface layer by bringing a solvent into contact with the surface layer of at least, one side of the molding; and the process of removing the protecting agent and the solvent.
