PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quantitatively estimate the dispersion in luminance due to glare of a displayed image, and to visually represent the variation. SOLUTION: In this method for estimating glare, a displayed image is captured by a CCD camera, and the captured image is subjected to Fourier transformation so as to remove the regular periodic components generated by pixels of the displayed image; and thereafter, inverse-Fourier transformation is applied.
