PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rapidly heating device and a method wherein energy consumption is less, and repair and exchange are easy by a reduced and simple structure. SOLUTION: The heating device of a flat-plate shaped heated material (1) constitutes a heating contact surface (2a) by arranging a plurality of exothermic elements (2) at a prescribed spacing with prescribed patterns on base plates (3, 4) having thermal insulation, and the heated material (1) is made to contact a heating contact surface (2a) to be heated.
