PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gardening moisture-retaining bag effectively preventing decomposition of water-absorbing polymer due to ultraviolet rays so as to exert the favorable moisture-retaining effect of soil over a long period of time. SOLUTION: The gardening moisture-retaining bag 1 is structured as follows: a prescribed amount (around 0.5 g in terms of dry weight) of polymer powder 10 comprising unhydrated moisture-retaining material is put between rectangular two pieces of a top surface sheet 3 and an under surface sheet 4; and the four peripheral sides of both of the sheets 3, 4 are sealed at peripheral parts 30, 40 to be internally sealed up. The polymer powder 10 absorbs water to be formed into hydrated gel 10x and appropriate numbers of the gardening moisture-retaining bags 1 are placed on the surface of the soil.
