The method involves dividing leaves (1) into strips by a vertical cutter i.e. disk knife (3), and dividing the leaves into small segments by a horizontal cutter (4). The cut leaves are accelerated by rotational speed of the disk knife and the horizontal cutter and pressure rollers of the cutters, and the cut leaves are gathered by forces based on the weight of the cut leaves after ejection from a controlled blower (11). The gathered leaves ejected from the blower are stopped or deflected at a flying path by an air blast, the disk knife or the horizontal cutter.
