A device of detecting paper medium is provided to detect whether paper medium is received or not easily by reflecting a light irradiated from a reflector in oblique line selectively. In a device of detecting paper medium, a cassette(200) comprises a support stand which supports a paper medium and a light-transmitting part(250) formed in upper part. A light source section(220) radiates on an upper part of the paper in oblique line, and a light receiving unit receives the light which is irradiated from the light source and passes the inside of the cassette. The reflecting body(260) reflects the light irradiated from the light source section.
