A method and an apparatus for displaying channel information of a TV are provided to supply thumbnail information according to a program of a corresponding channel together with a channel number when providing information of a channel which is previously watched. A PVR(Personal Video Recorder) unit(125) temporarily stores an image signal of a broadcasting program provided to a channel which is chosen by a user. If a channel conversion signal is inputted from the user, a controller(102) checks whether the user watches the selected channel during a predetermined period of time. If the user watches the selected channel during a predetermined period of time, the controller registers a corresponding channel as a previous channel list. When the previous channel list is provided, a display unit(137) displays an image signal stored in the PVR unit corresponding to a corresponding channel. |
