The fixation device comprises a post (1) having a head portion (10) with an opening (12) having a longitudinal axis (100) for reception of said wire and a neck portion (11) for being in engagement with an opening of a medical device. A locking element (2) is adapted to be introduced into opening (12) having an reception (26) with sections (263) that are inclined to the longitudinal axis. A clamping cone (3) is abutting on an abutment element (4,36;14) and has a clamping opening (33) to accommodate a wire and outer surfaces (300) that are inclined to the longitudinal axis and which are encompassed with the inclined sections (263) of the locking element (2). Upon axial displacement of the locking element (2) relative to the clamping cone (3) a radial force is exerted onto the clamping cone (3) leading to a reduction of the diameter of the clamping opening (33) such that a radial force results onto a wire or the pin inserted in the clamping opening.
