A method for phosphorylating atorvastatin or a derivative thereof comprising reacting the compound with P 4 O 10 in the presence of an alkali metal salt of a fatty acid is also disclosed. The claimed phosphate derivative can be used to lower patient serum cholesterol levels or treat depression.</p> |
