PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a housing structure for an electronic control unit whereby the assembling performance is enhanced and the cost is reduced. SOLUTION: The electronic control unit is provided with: an insulating resin made housing 3 with which a connector is integrally formed and both ends of which an opening is formed; a heatsink 5 fitted hermetically to the opening at one end side of the housing 3 and dissipating heat from a heat generating element contained inside the housing 3; a cover 6 fitted hermetically to the opening at the other end of the housing 3; a breathing hole 19 provided to the housing 3 and communicatively connecting the inside and the outside of the housing 3; and a filter 20 for covering the breathing hole 19. In the control unit, an outer opening end 19a of the breathing hole 19 is formed to the side face of the housing 3, an inner opening end 19b is formed in the housing 3 at a side of the heat sink 5, and a vent face 20a of the filter 3 is configured to be in parallel with the opening of the housing 3.
