The present invention relates to the treatment of decline of cognitive functions, and particularly it relates to the use of medium chain dicarboxylic acids as medicament or a dietary integrator for the treatment of decline of cognitive functions. The dicarboxylic acids according to the present invention have the following formula: HOOC-(CH 2 ) n -COOH, wherein n is an integer ranging from 6 to 16 or pharmaceutically acceptable salts, derivatives or mixture thereof. |
