A device and a method for transmitting data in a wireless communication system are provided to reduce collision probability of the data between terminals using an arbitrary access method based on the multi channel. An arbitrary back-off time is generated if at least one sub carrier set with a standby state exists for a sensing section(201). If at least one sub carrier set with the standby state exists in the back-off slot(203), the value of the back-off counter determined by the back-off time is reduced as many as the number of the sub carrier sets with the standby sets(205). If the value of the back-off counter is 0, at least one sub carrier set or more is selected for transmitting the data among the sets with the standby state. The data is transmitted through the selected sub carrier sets(211). The whole frequency band is classified into at least one sub carrier sets.
