[Class 113 (i)] A weathertight door for use on ships, comprises a door 1 formed from steel plate with internal flanges 3 along its four edges; a door case 4 formed from steel angle bar and attached to the bulkhead 2, the door being provided with packing 7 which is engageable with the edge of one leaf of the angle bar 4 forming the door case, hinges 9 connecting the door with the door case via hinge bats 6 having nuts 10 allowing for adjustment of the door while dispensing with the necessity for fastenings along the hinged edge of the door, and fastening spindles 11 mounted in the door near the edge thereof remote from the hinges and supported by brackets 17 and carrying locking members 13 adapted for engagement with wedge members 16 on the door case. |
