A composition for preventing and treating depresseion, which contains a Kaempferol, Quercetin or Chlorogenic acid as an active ingredient is provided to have anti-depression through the secretion of Kaempferol, Quercetin or Chlorogenic acid. A composition for activating beta-endorphin and anti-depression comprises a Kaempfero of the chemical formula 1, Quercetin of the chemical formula 2, or chlorogenic acid of the chemical formula 3 as an active ingredient. The activation of beta-endorphin increases the expression amount of beta-endorphine, promote the secretion of beta-endorphine, and enhances the activity of beta-endorphine. The composition is used in a form of powder, tablet, capsule, liquid, injection, ointment and syrup. A pharmaceutical composition is administered through oral cavity, muscle, bone marrow, intracardiac, or subcutaneous.
