<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiving method and apparatus for suppressing the occurrence of an error when the effect of noise on a received signal differs between symbol units of the signal. <P>SOLUTION: A derivation section 24 derives an SNR corresponding to an OFDM symbol. An FFT 26 applies FFT to a signal composed by a delay symbol composite section 20. An equalization section 28 executes equalization processing for a subcarrier signal received from the FFT 26. A demapping section 32 applies demapping equalization data 212 to a signal point of the QPSK. In the case of executing demapping, the demapping section 32 adjusts the width of respective partial regions in accordance with the SNR derived from the derivation section 24.
