The method involves adjusting a lower hydrodynamic power transmission in the hydrodynamic machine (1) by decreasing or delayed increase of a filling degree of the hydrodynamic machine. A drive power from a main engine (9) is hydro-dynamically transmitted to a drive wheel (11) of a vehicle by the hydrodynamic machine. The hydrodynamic machine comprises a primary wheel (3) and a secondary wheel (4), which together form in a vehicle drive train (2). An independent claim is included for a drive train, particularly a vehicle drive train.
