A liquid crystal display device controlling method is provided to suppress the narrow of a viewing angle and obtain clear image since image data of high gray scale is not shifted. A first gray scale region comprises a plurality of gray levels, and a second gray level region comprises a plurality of gray levels which is the high gradation than the gray level included in the first gray level region. If a gray level basing on image data included in the first gray level region, the first brightness correction raising the brightness of image is performed in image data. If the gray level basing on image data included in the second gray level region, the brightness correction of image data is not performed.
