RELIABILITY EVALUATION AND COMPENSATION METHOD OF MOTION VECTOR

A reliability evaluation and compensation method of a motion vector is provided to perform frame interpolation by using a predicted motion vector, thereby improving a frame rate. If nothing similar to a peripheral vector component exists(S220), a motion vector component is filtered(S230). Reliability of the motion vector is calculated by using the calculated motion vector by the filtering technique(S240). It is determined whether the motion vector is reliable according to the calculated reliability(S250). When the motion vector is not reliable, reliability is calculated by using a motion vector of a peripheral vector adjacent in four directions in a motion vector of a block to be processed(S260). The motion vector is converted into the reliable motion vector according to the reliability of the motion vector(S270).
