At least one hollow punch is used to form a cavity in the clay and has two open ends. A retaining means covered with felt is used to hold the preform during punching. The apparatus comprises a conveyor (2) with mould tools (3) joined together, each tool containing one or more moulds (16) containing one mould cavity; a means (4, 5, 7, 8) for adding a deformable clay to the moulds; and a means for discharging the preforms removed from the moulds. An independent claim is also included for a method for punching a clay preform using the above punch device positioned above the clay moulds. |
