A coloring ink for color contact lens is provided to be nontoxic and to maintain proper viscosity by controlling hydrolysis degree and molecular weight of a polymer with excellent bio-compatibility. A coloring ink for color contact lens comprises a polymer solution where polyvinylalcohol is dissolved in water, and pigment. The coloring ink is printed on the surface of a die and bonded to lens materials. The polyvinyl alcohol has hydrolysis degree of 85-99% and average molecular weight of 5,000-100,000. A method for manufacturing the coloring ink for color contact lens comprises the steps of: preparing polyvinyl alcohol; dissolving polyvinyl alcohol in water to obtain the polymer solution; mixing pigment in the polymer solution to obtain ink; printing predetermined patterns on the surface of a first die with the ink; curing the ink printed on the first die; and coupling the first die with the second die filled with lens materials and fixing the ink printed on the first die to the lens materials. |
