SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR GENERATING THUMNAIL IMAGES

A system and a method for generating thumbnail images are provided to extract an outstanding high quality image, thereby generating thumbnail images. A noise filter unit(110) performs noise reduction filtering about image data of each image frame. A color histogram analyzer(130) analyzes a return value of a generated color histogram. A saturation histogram analyzer(140) analyzes the return value of the generated saturation histogram. A frame selector(150) selects an image frame which is the most suitable for a thumbnail image. A thumbnail generating unit(160) produces the selected image frame by a static image file having required resolution and size.
