An electronic device and a touch screen display for improving the sensitivity and the performance of feedback are provided to transmit signal to a processor for supplying a suitable response when the touch screen is touched. A resistance touch-sensitive overlay includes a pair of touch sensor layers(16, 18). A resistance touch screen control component(20) determines the location of the touch event on the touch sensitive overlay. A capacitive control component receives an input for determining the variation generated from the capacitive coupling with an outer layer of a pair of touch sensor layers. A processor inactivates the discrimination of the variation generated by a pair of touch sensor layers from the capacitive coupling with the outer layer for the location determination of the touch event on the touch sensitive overlay.
