A plasma display apparatus and a driving method thereof are provided to enhance the luminance of the plasma display panel with the margin in the actuating time. A plasma display apparatus comprises a digital image output unit(110), an image data correction part(100), and a driving control section(80). The digital image output unit converts the input video signal into the video data. The video data is comprised of unit frames. The unit frame is comprised of subfields. The image data correction part determines the similarity of data of the scan electrode line in a subfield. The image data correction part groups the scan line electrodes which have the similarity higher than the set value. The driving control section controls the address, scan and sustain drivers. The driving control section supplies the scan pulse to the grouped scan line electrodes in the scan duration at the same time.
