A system and a method for providing information by using short message service are provided to transmit the contents of a short message by including keywords into the contents. An information registration terminal(130) preoccupies keywords by transmitting an information registration short message to an information providing server(120), and the information registration terminal includes keywords, keyword information and keyword register information. An information request terminal(100) transmits an information request short message to the information provision server and the keyword information mapped at the keyword is received from the information provision server. The information request short message includes the keywords.
