A METHOD FOR SURFACE MODIFICATION OF PROTECTIVE FILM OF POLARIZING PLATE

A method for modifying the surface of a protective film for a polarizing plate is provided to increase the adhesion of a protective film to a polarizing plate by using an alkali solution and to surface-treat the protective film to become hydrophilic within a short time, thereby improving productivity. A method for modifying the surface of a protective film for a polarizing plate comprises a step of treating the protective film for the polarizing plate in an alkali solution and applying ultrasonic wave to it. The protective film for the polarizing plate is selected from the group consisting of a cellulose ester film, a polyester film, a polycarbonate film and etc. The ultrasonic wave is 15kHz ~ 400kHz. The ultrasonic wave has a single frequency. The ultrasonic wave is a combination of different frequencies. The alkali solution treatment is performed at 25~65°C and the alkali solution is 1~10N.
