Use of a combination of myxoma virus and rapamycin for therapeutic treatment

Disclosed is the use of Myxoma virus in combination with rapamycin, for the manufacture of a medicament for inhbiting a cell that has a deficient innate anti-viral response. In particular, the cell is a human cancer cell, or a cell that has been chronically infected with a disease. Treatment with rapamycin enhances the ability of Myxoma virus to selectively infect cells that have a deficient innate anti-viral response, including cells that are not responsive to interferon. The disclosure further relates to the use of a Myxoma virus that does not express functional M135R.
