<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect tampering, such as installing a skimming device, with information other than on physical opening/closing of a top cover, in a settlement terminal. <P>SOLUTION: The settlement terminal for performing settlement processing comprises: an internal temperature sensor for measuring an internal temperature of the settlement terminal; a temperature sensor control section for determining at a fixed time interval whether the internal temperature measured by the internal temperature sensor is within a preset temperature range, and determining, in a case when the internal temperature is not within the preset temperature range, whether a preset saturation time has elapsed since the last time when the internal temperature was within the preset temperature range; and an abnormality detection control section for determining the fact of tampering to send an abnormality warning to a preset recipient in a case when the saturation time has elapsed since the last time when the internal temperature was within the preset temperature range. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
