PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a temperature rise of toner in a developing device to suppress the occurrence of adhesion of toner to the inside of the developing device and deterioration of toner, thereby forming an excellent image. SOLUTION: This image forming apparatus A includes: a forced consumption mode control part (part of a control part Cont) for executing a toner forced consumption mode concerning the developing device 4; and a toner temperature acquiring means (part of the control part or a temperature detector TS2) for acquiring toner temperature in the developing device 4. The forced consumption mode control part executes a toner forced consumption mode to consume the minimum required amount of toner, which is predetermined according to the toner temperature in the developing device 4.
