摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of discharging a secondary battery in an intrinsically safe explosion-free apparatus achieving safe forced-discharge of residual electric power in the secondary battery to recover the memorizing effect of the secondary battery, and to provide the intrinsically safe explosion-free apparatus maintaining the original function of the secondary battery over a long time by executing the discharging method. SOLUTION: The method of discharging the secondary battery is executed in the intrinsically safe explosion-free apparatus in which the secondary battery is used as a driving power source and the power from the secondary battery is supplied to respective constitutional members via a current limiting means. The residual current in the secondary battery is forcibly discharged by short-circuiting via the current limiting means while monitoring the battery voltage of the secondary battery.
