PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for suppressing the unnecessary distribution of map data by which when a vehicle has once traveled on a road and transmitted the traveling history, and thereafter the map data relevant to the road has been updated, the vehicle can receive the updating of the map data relevant to the road even if the vehicle does not travel on the same road again. SOLUTION: The map distribution server receives (step 103) traveling history transmitted from a vehicle navigation device, continues to record the received traveling history after acquiring (step 203) new map data afterwards, and transmits (step 205) data of the traveling road relevant to the continuously recorded traveling history among the updated part of the new map data to the vehicle navigation device.
